Nasir Idris is a Nigerian unionist, educationist, and politician who is currently serving as the governor of Kebbi State under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He was elected as the governor of Kebbi State in the 2023 gubernatorial election held on April 17, 2023.
Idris has a long history of service to the Nigerian people. Before entering politics, he served as the National President of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) and Deputy President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC). His experience in the education sector has given him a deep understanding of the challenges facing teachers and students in Nigeria.
As governor, Nasir Idris has prioritized education reform, infrastructure development, healthcare improvement, agriculture promotion, and job creation. His policies aim to create an enabling environment for economic growth and improve the standard of living for the people of Kebbi State.
